Virginia Fried Walters 5/29/1925-1/14/2021
We said goodbye to Ginny Walters on January 14, 2022 with sadness, love and gratitude for her incredible 96 years on this planet. She leaves a big hole in our family, not least as the writer of birthday poems, keeper of puzzles, and giver of advice (but not bothered if you ignored it). She broke the mold, quietly, and in doing so, was an example to everyone who met her. We created this website to celebrate her life, her legacy and her eternal spirit. If you would like to honor Ginny with a donation, these are the two organizations she named:
Ginny was co-founder of Patient Choices Vermont and worked for many years to advocate for the enactment of Vermont's Act 39, which allows terminally ill Vermonters to request medical aid in dying. The organization is now run by Betsy Walkerman, Ginny's daughter, and is focused on educating Vermonters about end-of-life choice.

Ginny was committed to the cause of educating people about controlling population growth. She volunteered for twenty years maintaining the donor database at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.
